I am, after all, basically a 5 year old. At best. Pink? You have me. Sparkles? Even better. Hello Kitty? Sold. But sometimes even basic groceries give me delight.
Hubs and I headed to the market this evening after dinner. (don't want to go hungry!) We ambled around the produce section for a bit, selecting a gorgeous orange bell pepper. Picked up some mushrooms. The ush. Typically, we breeze through the middle of the store, the boxed stuff. We don't buy anything in that section, keeping our purchases to fresh foods, dairy and the occasional frozen bread. Okay, you got me, sometimes we stop for a bag of chips. And stop for a bag of chips today I did! I love me some Zapps and was thrilled at the packaging. Sadly, I put those delicious kettle cooked chips back.
Later, I came across what could only be described as a dream come true. Seemingly endless rows of cupcakes, all pink and pretty!
But then, the sight that Made my Monday. Just walking around the dairy section like he was shopping, a bird! I watched that feathered creature, hands on my knees, for a good few minutes. I guess my staring made him uncomfortable because he mosied under an endcap of pita chips. You just don't see that everyday!

Made my Monday!
Forget the bird! YOU HAVE ZAPP'S! I miss Zapp's. No Zapp's in Colorado. Only fond memories of living in the south and visiting the south and having Zapp's. Oh the joy when Krispy Kreme moved here several years ago. ;)
ReplyDeleteMmm, Zapps totally rule, don't they? Cracked black pepper are my favorite!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of Zapps! They look amazing - definitely a reason to go to Texas :P
ReplyDeleteLittle birdie! That's funny because the other day there was a mallard duck chillin' just outside the grocery store entrance. Just waiting by the door. :)
ReplyDeleteI need to have you live near me and take you shopping!! I saw a 13 dollar hello kitty tea cup alarm clock at Target and passed it up! Pink, glitter, HK!! It's like we are twins. :) I love this post!
ReplyDeleteOhhh alll of that sounds great. Now I'm hungry...So random that there was a bird in the store, ha.
ReplyDeleteI want a pink cupcake! I bet the birdie was after one too!
ReplyDeleteI am a firm believer in "it's all about the little things!" :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with Morgan, little things through out the day that amuse you/cheer you up are the best.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking as another five year old, it looks like you had a blast at the market!! How fun, I love the cupcakes and the bird...you are so funny!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'd have to put those chips back too! Gig'em, GO TIDE - BTHO t.u.! :-)
ReplyDeleteMmmmm, cupcakes.
ReplyDeleteAny product that puts UT on it has my heart.
ReplyDeleteI don't like birds. I always want to kick them.
