Made my Monday

You never know when your words will touch someone.

I was touched today by the kindness of someone's words. I got an e-mail this morning from a sweet friend, someone who admire greatly, and these are the words she started off with.
"wanted to let you know...you motivate me!!!"

I motivate YOU?

Wow.
I am humbled. She's a faithful reader and says that my love for running (along with watching BL!) has inspired her to start running and she's got her sights set on her first 5K in April. She started a little bit at a time and recently ran her first mile without stopping! Can I get a whoo whoo?
Y'all remember what a GREAT feeling that is! How accomplished you feel! Like you can take on the world; you've found a renewed confidence in yourself. It's what motivates us all - that belief in ourselves.
Laura, I'm so proud of you! I'm so happy for you! I hope you hang on to that feeling, that pride in your accomplishment. You've earned it! Just remember, "Run with endurance the race that is set before us." Hebrews 12:1

And girl, you

Made my Monday! (and yeah, I realized it's Tuesday, but it's the first day of my workweek, so it counts)

Side note, I managed to actually run this morning, 5 miles. And you know what? It's like I never stopped. My legs do still work after all. Hmph. Thank you for all your encouraging comments!!!

  3. A friend of mine did the same thing to me. She emailed me and told me how I've inspired her WHOLE family to train and run a 5K on Thanksgiving. Feels amazing, doesn't it!
