It was planned. In fact, Friday was my "every other Friday" off day so I took Thursday off too, to make it a 5 day weekend.
Yes, I'm spoiled like that.
Thursday I ran around town like a crazy lady, getting all KINDS of errands done. Found this little guy at HomeGoods. Um, really, who needs a monk squirrel? I left him in the store.

Friday I painted our bedroom. More on that later.
Saturday I ran 16 miles, hung out with Da and Sister and then spent some quality time on the sofa, icing my knee and hip.
Sunday, the ush, adding in an Open House down the street from us. We loooove a good Open House, especially one in the 'hood. Who doesn't love sneaking a peak in your neighbor's home?
Today though, today was all about nutin'. I slep until I woke up. Spent an inordinate amout of time at Target (my happy place) and then came home to watch Perry Mason and cook. It's a dark, rainy, dreary day, just right for cooking some comfort food. I made a batch of veggie soup and some Santa Fe casserole. Mmm.
Needless to say, it was the perfect day to do nothing. I'm so thankful I have the time to take, a boss who is flexible enough to let me take off last minute and that the weather was the kind of make you glad you stayed home!
Made my Monday.
I'm off to class. Tonight is fartleks. They've never done fartleks before so this should be extra fun! Who doesn't love a good fartlek???
Hey, I like that squirrel but I'm unsure of the monk's robe and cross...interesting. Have fun fartleking!?
ReplyDeleteVery jealous of your five day weekend! Sounds like it was quite productive though :)
ReplyDeleteI'm seriously jealous!! I considered taking a personal day today but couldn't because work was looming!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a GREAT way to spend a 5-day weekend :-)
I was thinking this morning on the way to work ... I need a day off! Sounds like a wonderfully perfect long weekend. Jealous of everything except the fartleks ;)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fantastic weekend! So jealous you had a 5 day weekend--awesome. How great that you get every other Friday off too! Awesome.

ReplyDeleteI love days where I just do nothing! good job on the 16 miles
ReplyDeletewow sounds like an amazing long weekend! i love painting! - definitely want to hear how that went!
ReplyDeleteI think you've said you're from the Dallas area? Any chance you have some running tips? Clubs, Classes what have you? I have no where to run around where I maybe moving to and the only thing is holding me back from an incredible opportunity is worrying about how this will change my running!
ReplyDeleteLUCKY I am on spring break next week I'm so excited I could scream doubt I will be as productive as you though!
Sounds like a good 5 day weekend.
ReplyDelete"Who needs a monk squirrel"??? Who doesn't?!?!
i just read about fartleks in my running book!! i've heard you mention them before, but i think i thought you were talking about 'farckle' the game, ha!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great weekend!!! I too spend waaaaay too much time in Target!!!
ReplyDeleteThe squirrel scares me. A lot. And omg Target....how I miss Target. I moved...and the closest target is VERY ghetto and 45 minutes away...in light traffic with all green lights.
ReplyDeleteMAN I miss Target.
