Brain, iPhone Photo Dump

I’ve really been struggling with blogging lately.  Most of my training is done solo. And y’all can only tolerate so many self-portraits on the trainer, right? Right.  Plus, I really don’t think y’all want a run down of my training schedule.  To quote Grumpy Cat, “No.”
So, what else is going on in my life?
Welp, major construction going on at Casa de Pink.
That was once a shower

Which is causing my cat great stress.  Things weren’t , ah, working properly so she and I headed to the vet.  And now my cat is, temporarily, on Xan@x.  True story.  Bless her heart, she’s not sleeping and she’s pulling out her fur in addition to other issues.  Being locked up in the bedroom all day with so many noises has just sent her over the edge.  I’m leaving the electric blanket on for her, as well as the playlist Orange. And, I bought aromatherapy plug ins.  Hoping her sense of smell is sophisticated enough that Eucalyptus calms her down some.  One more week, Livy, one more week.
Does aromatherapy work on kittehs?

A few weeks ago we ran to the lake to spectate our friends as they tore up the course of the Snowman Shuffle. This also happened to be MK’s birthday race – there were cupcakes involved for those that chose to partake.  (not me, I still had to run back, ha!)  Can I just say that I have incredibly fast friends?  Everyone placed in their AG – every last one of them!

My oldest friend, Sandra, came into town. I’ve been knowing her since the second grade. She lives in D.C. and it has been since MCM that I saw her last.  Oooh, what a treat to see this girl; I hugged her neck hard!  She’s one of those true friends – I can go years without seeing her and then when we do, it’s like no time has passed at all.

I’m all about eating these days.  It’s like my second job.  Pinterest has replaced the foam roller as my best friend and worst enemy.  You just never know.  Made these eggplant burgers and, oh mah guah, so delicious.  I made a bunch and they are living in the freezer just waiting to be reheated for my lunches.  Tried these black bean/mushroom burgers this weekend. Um, no.  They tasted okay but were crazy messy – ended up making them Sloppy Joe style.  You can see my pic doesn’t look quite like the original recipe. Sad panda.
Her photo is better than my photo

After 4+ hours of workouts, what does a Pink Girl eat?  ALL OF THE THINGS.  I’m obsessing over these frozen pizza crusts at Central Market.  Just 74 calories per serving (1/4 the pizza crust) and let’s face it, the entire pizza was one serving yesterday.  Can you say “TPG likes olives?”  Mmm, salty.

My fence was falling down and I hired a (almost) four year old to come fix it.  He does good work.  His dad helped out a little tiny bit.  I am so thankful for generous, handy friends. So are my neighbors as the fence is no longer threatening to lie down in their yard!

One wild Saturday night headed to the feed store before taking in a bluegrass show.  Chickens then bluegrass. Yes, we were the youngest people there by a good twenty years.  But let me tell you, bluegrass is where it is.

The next weekend saw Punch Brothers and good golly Pete they are FANTASTIC live!  What Chris Thile can do on a mandolin is out of this world.

I’m trying really hard not to let my training completely take over my life.  I work in fun when and where I can.  Honestly though, sometimes my “fun” is hanging out on the sofa under an electric blanket. And I’m okay with that.  (so are my furry roommates)
Tell me, what random outing have you been on lately?  Top the feed store – do it!

Don’t forget to comment on this post for a chance to receive Dano’s new book, Tri Therapy!  You have all day tomorrow - I randomly pick a reader on Wednesday!

  4. I don't think I can top the feed store, but I did get me and the dog lost in the woods. At first I was thinking Blair Witch, but seriously? I knew that I was less than 3 miles from my house, lol!

  5. Oh, your poor cat. I hope the construction's quick and she's better soon. Sadly, I cannot top the feed store, but you've given me a goal for the week.

  6. My friend's dog is on Proz@c because he has separation anxiety. It's definitely helped. They also sell plug-ins specifically for animals but I think they are kind of pricey.
There is a bluegrass festival every year in my hometown. I've never gone but it seems to be really popular (according to crackbook) among the young and old.
