So fast they are blurry!
Last year we met up for supper and the races. This year we brought coolers and chairs to picnic on the sidelines while the riders wooshed past us. It was exciting seeing how FAST they were going. On and on, round and round, never losing speed. We watched the women race and then Cat 1 - oh mah guah, so speedy!

I love these girls!
We enjoyed several of the races, gnoshing on pasta salad and fruit. (carb loading for them, I guess) It was pretty hot out but during the last race of the night, a cold front came in and it dropped 10 degrees with in 5 minutes. That can only mean one thing in Texas in spring - storms. We high tailed it out of there and sure enough, about 10 minutes into the drive home, the skies opened up and it poured down rain. Good timing! For us, not the cyclists still out there racing!
There's a crit series at a local park on Tuesday nights. Violator and I've been to watch and I'm tempted to try my hand later this summer. It will be humiliating to be beat by everyone, including the small children that race. But fun to try, yes?
Have you every raced a crit? Spectated?
