Heidi has the best ideas. We spent a lovely evening last week just chatting and catching up. (in people clothes!) Up came the topic of What is Next? We both agreed that we'd gotten a little squishy and careless with our nutrition. (those "rewards" add up quickly when you aren't working out 18+ hrs a week)
So she declared No Junk July. No cookies, no beer. Those were her 2 big junky items to ban. I thought about it for a hot minute and, because I like a challenge, decided to join her in No Junk July. The best part about this challenge is that I get to decide what is junk. And for me, it is three items: soda, tortillas and cheese.
All the good things.
So, no soda, no tortillas (gasp - what will I feed the deer?) and cheese, well, about cheese. I'm not banishing cheese altogether. Just no meals that are basically an excuse to devour cheese with a few things sprinkled on it for more flavor. So, no tortillas with avocado, cheese and salsa. Zomg, that is so goooood. No Hot and Ready pizza. No sliced cheese just sitting in the fridge. (hummus is enough for a sandwich) No grilled cheese from Smashburger. Sniff.
No. Big. Deal. I can do this. It's just for a month and besides, I still have cookies and beer, ha ha!
Note: Heidi is the most thoughtful tri-bestie ever. Check out this beautiful necklace she had engraved for me (and got one to match - twinkies!) On charm has my initial and on the other side, "tri-bestie" the long charm says "swim bike run" and "cute and durable." I love it SO much! I love it more that is is personalized and meaningful!
So, No Junk July. Are you with me? What junk would YOU give up?
